台北市觀傳局30日晚間在印度的泰姬稜酒店舉辦台北之夜、台北觀光之夜活動，由於印度的寶萊塢聞名國際，台北市也積極尋求合作空間，文化局長鍾永豐更大氣宣布，只要國際導演有在世界中等以上影展得過獎，來台灣拍片北市府將會補助100萬美金（約合台幣3300萬），以及所有需要的協助如道路、場所、簽證、器材進口等。
鍾永豐表示，此方案行之有年，但過去只限定在坎城、威尼斯、柏林、奧斯卡等四大影展，但去年經過議會建議後，文化局決定放寬標準到日舞、釜山等中等的影展；鐘表示，世界上不少中等影展是新銳導演要跨入世界甚至成為大導演的必經之路，希望能藉此鼓勵、幫助更多的年輕導演。
鍾永豐指出，這個獎助方案不限定在台北，只要外國導演來台拍片、取景，就符合申請資格；而此100萬美金的補助為年度預算模式，若有超過一家以上申請，將會由台北市電影委員會進行效益評估。
另外，鍾永豐還說，若企業贊助導演拍攝電影，市府會協助做減稅的申請；此外，國際電影工作人員來到台灣還是會有稅的問題，市府也會協助來拍電影的公司提出減稅的申請。
電影導演或製片人製作之作品需符合資格一覽表：
(1) 奧斯卡金像獎（Academy Award）入圍下列獎項：
1. 長片競賽單元獲獎最佳影片
2. 長片競賽單元獲獎最佳導演
(2) 坎城影展(Cannes International Film Festival)入圍下列獎項：
1. 長片競賽單元獲獎最佳影片 金棕櫚
2. 長片競賽單元獲獎最佳導演
3. 長片競賽單元獲獎評審團大獎
4. 一種注真皮斜背包目獲獎最佳影片
5. 金攝影機獎 (所有單元之長片皆有資格)
(3) 威尼斯影展(Venice International Film Festival)入圍下列獎項：
1. 長片競賽單元獲獎最佳影片 金獅獎
2. 長片競賽單元獲獎最佳導演
3. 長片競賽單元獲獎評審團大獎
4. 長片競賽單元獲獎評審團特別獎
5. 地平線單元獲獎最佳影片
6. 地平線單元獲獎最佳導演
7. 地平線單元獲獎評審團獎
